Fall Tea Towels

IT’S TIME TO THINK ABOUT HOLIDAY GIFTS AND STOCKING STUFFERS
So, you have always wanted to do satin edge appliqué; but the project was overwhelming or you thought your machine could not do the stitch. The good news is….this is the class for you. If you already know how, come join us for the fellowship and complete some holiday projects.
The objective is to complete a tea towel from one of the two patterns offered. A tea towel will make a great hostess gift, an addition to holiday cookie trays or to bring a smile to your face.
The workshop discussion will include:

1. Viewing a collection of raw edge projects with various types of edge finishing.
2. Discussing various types of fusible products.
3. Advantages and disadvantages of stabilizers
4. Use of threads
5. Determining the order of stitching to be done
6. Beginning and ending stitching
Individual assistance will be given to each participant on their machine to achieve a good satin stitch. Each attendee will receive a “practice sheet” to practice on prior to working on their tea towel.

In this class you will learn how to achieve smooth curves, sharp points and professional looking satin stitch appliqué.
Workshop objective is to learn a new method to enhance your current quilting.
